Directions to St. Mary's

From Northern New Jersey and the Bronx: Take Cross Bronx Expressway to Throg’s Neck Bridge south to Cross Island Parkway South. Continue south till Parkway divides for Southern State east and Belt Parkway west to Brooklyn. Take Belt Parkway west and go 2 exits, to Francis Lewis Blvd exit. Bear right at end of ramp and pass back over highway. First traffic light is Brookville Boulevard. Turn right on to Brookville Blvd.  Follow directions here...

From Southern New Jersey: Get As far as Staten Island. Take Verrazano Bridge to Belt Parkway east all the way to exit for Brookville Boulevard.  Make right turn at light on to Brookville Blvd. Follow directions here...

From Staten Island, New Jersey or Brooklyn:  Take Verrazano-Narrows Bridge to Belt Parkway East to Flatbush Avenue exit south (Marine Parkway/Gil Hodges Bridge) and follow as “From Rockaway bridges” Click Here...

Alternate From Brooklyn: Take Atlantic Avenue east through East New York. Bear right to get on South Conduit Blvd. headed east. Follow signs for Long Island.  Emerge on to Rockaway Boulevard / Route 878 / Nassau Expressway. Stay on this for several miles. Landmarks: JFK Airport; Pathmark mall (on left), IHOP, Five Towns Motor Inn, Costco. At Costco bear right at light to remain on Rte. 878
 

FROM BROOKVILLE BLVD.  Continue on Brookville Blvd south.  Pass thru a heavily weeded area. Major traffic light at Rockaway Blvd. (Concrete factory on left.)  Turn left on to Rockaway Blvd.  Go about 1 1/2 miles east. Pass Five Towns Shopping Mall on left.  Pass Five Towns Motor Inn on Right. Finally on right you’ll see large retail store called “COSTCO”. At this light, there is a large overhead green sign saying “Long Beach-Rockaway- Route 878”. Here turn right on to 878. Go about 5 traffic lights on 878 to Central Ave exit.  Here turn right.  Continue south on Central about 1 1/2 miles. It becomes Beach 20 St. When you pass Mott Avenue.  Pass Cornaga Avenue. Pass Strand Movie Theater (abandoned) on the left. Church is at next intersection of B. 20 St. And New Haven Ave. Turn left on New Haven Ave. Enter parking lot between church and rectory on New Haven Ave.

“FROM THE ROCKAWAY PENINSULA BRIDGES” From the Marine Parkway / Gil Hodges Bridge, bear left for signs to Riis Park. You are now on Beach Channel Drive. Just past Riis Park, bear left at the fork (no signs). Stay on Beach Channel Drive all the way to Beach 73 St. Turn right on B. 73 St. Go 2 lights (short blocks), passing  under the “El”, and turn left on to Rockaway Beach Boulevard / Edgemere Avenue. Go several miles on this to B. 19 St. Turn left on B. 19 St. Go 3 blocks to New Haven Avenue and turn left.

From Queens:
Get to South Conduit Blvd. and follow as above From Brooklyn”.

Or take Cross Bay Blvd. (Woodhaven Blvd.) south to Cross Bay Bridge and follow as “From Rockaway peninsula bridges”, above, click here...

 From Eastern Long Island:  Take Southern State Parkway to exit for Peninsula Boulevard west.  Take Peninsula Blvd. several miles to Route 878 (just after Rockaway Turnpike). Turn left on Rte. 878 and follow as in “From Brookville Blvd”, above. Click here...

By Public Transportation:

 Subway: Take the “A” train marked “Mott Avenue- Far Rockaway” (not the one marked “Lefferts Blvd.” or “Rockaway Beach”) and take it to the last stop, Mott Avenue. Walk 2 short blocks east on Mott to B. 20 St. And 2 long blocks south to New Haven Avenue.

 Buses:  the Q-22 (Green Bus), the Q-113 (Jamaica Bus) the N-31, N-32 and N-33 (Nassau County) all stop at the church.

 LIRR: The Long Island Railroad terminus is at Nameoke St. near Central Ave.  Walk south on Central about 4 long blocks to the church.
