ST. MARY, STAR OF THE SEA SCHOOL MISSION
STATEMENT
Our school gives glory to God, the Most
Blessed Trinity, by participating in the Catholic Church’s mission to draw
all people to the Father through his Son, Jesus Christ, in the power of the
Holy Spirit. We seek to draw out the best from every student by maintaining
the highest standards for them.

We pursue this vision by educating the whole person,
intellectually, socially and spiritually.

Adhering to the educational norms of New York State,
the Diocese of Brooklyn and the appropriate accrediting agencies, we also
seek to promote a deeper understanding of the faith.

Therefore, we expect that every student will fulfill
his or her obligations, educationally, behaviorally and religiously,
whatever their religious affiliation.

These obligations can only be fulfilled with the
active cooperation of the entire family. St. Mary’s School can best
achieve its mission when the family has a serious involvement with its own
religious denomination, whether Catholic or not, and we expect that every
family at least attends its church on the Lord’s Day and as much as
possible seeks active involvement its activities.

For Catholic families, St. Mary’s School encourages
participation in St. Mary’s parish life and activities, or in the parish
where they reside. One measure of such active participation is parish
registration.

SANTA
MARIA,
ESTRELLA DEL MAR
Nuestra escuela da Gloria a Dios, la Santísima Trinidad, por
participar en la misión de la Iglesia Católica de traer a toda la gente al
Padre a través su Hijo Jesucristo, en el poder del Espíritu Santo. Buscamos
sacar lo mejor de cada estudiante manteniendo el nivel educativo mas alto.

Perseguimos esta visión educando la persona completa: intelectualmente,
socialmente y espiritualmente

Unido a
las normas educacionales del Estado de New York, la Diócesis de Brooklyn y
las agencias apropiadas de acreditación, queremos promover un
entendimiento mas profundo de la fe.

Entonces, esperamos que cada estudiante cumpla con sus obligaciones
educacionales, religiosas y de buena conducta, sin excepción de su
religión o congregación.

Estas
obligaciones se pueden llevar a cabo con la colaboración active de la
familia entera. Nuestra escuela puede realizar su misión mejor cuando la
familia toma un compromiso activo con su propia iglesia o denominación.
Esperamos que cada familia participe en su iglesia, a lo menos en el día
del Señor, y que participe activamente de sus actividades.

Queremos que las familias católicas participen en la vida y actividades de
nuestra parroquia o de su parroquia. Una medida de esta participación
activa es la inscripción para recibir los sobres de la parroquia.
